2026 COURSE MAPS

With new distances and more athletes competing, we’ve updated all of our course maps in 2026. If you’ve raced with us before, you’ll notice some big changes to the Busselton 100 and Aquabike course. The 2km swim will now feature an Aussie Exit, and the bike course has been updated to a single-lap format.

The move to a one‑lap bike course allows us to introduce a 20‑metre draft zone for Open athletes, bringing us in line with IRONMAN and Challenge events. It also reduces the impact of road closures and traffic management on residents in Busselton, Port Geographe, and Wonnerup, which is an important part of ensuring we remain welcomed by the community long-term. These course changes also make it possible for us to run the Busselton 50 and Duathlon 100 formats on the same day without adding congestion to the course or limiting field sizes for other events.

That special glimpse of family and friends and that lift in energy is still there, but it will now come during the beach turn for the Aussie Exit. The Aussie Exit gives spectators more exciting moments to watch, and with so many first‑timers this year, it’s a safer setup too. Keeping athletes closer to shore means they can take a breather on dry land if needed and reduces some of the potential risks if we have rough ocean conditions.

And don’t worry about spectators getting bored while you’re on the bike course. The expo and the Duathlon 100 and Busselton 50 races will keep the action going in the main event zone all day!
