INDIVIDUALS
AusTriathlon Members: Only current financial Standard or Premium AusTriathlon members are eligible for the Member Cost. No ODL needs to be added on, just pay the base registration fee.
Non-members and general entries: All non-members, including those with Social or Basic AusTriathlon memberships, are required to pay the Non-Member Cost by adding a One Day License (ODL) to their registration. The ODL can be found in the Merchandise section during registration. The ODL is essential for race insurance coverage in case of an accident, so please ensure you add it if you do not hold a current Standard or Premium AusTriathlon membership.
The One Day License fee for these races is $12.50, which accounts for the difference in entry prices shown below. If you don’t add on the ODL during registration and aren’t a Standard or Premium AusTriathlon member at the time of verification, our team will reach out to ensure this ODL item is added and paid for before race day. It is a requirement for race insurance.

Important things to note
WETSUITS
Wetsuits are usually optional for the Busselton 25 distance swim due to the time of year and air/water temp. This means you can wear one if you like. It must cover your torso and be less than 5mm thick as per the race rules.
RACE RULES
These races are are run under AusTriathlon Race Competition Rules. You can access a copy of the race rules at www.triathlon.org.au/rules. We encourage all competitors to familiarise themselves with the rules prior to racing to avoid common penalties.
For beginner triathletes, a helpful beginners information guide with common penalties and tips/tricks for your first race is available on the Triathlon WA website.
RACE ROSTER ENHANCED REFUND PROTECTION PROGRAM
As part of your registration, before checkout, you will be asked if you’d like to protect your race experience by purchasing Race Roster protection. By choosing to do this, you can likely get 100% of your fees back up until race day if something happens that is covered under their terms, ie. a training accident, forced work relocation, medical advice contraindicating participation, or illness. Terms and conditions do apply, and we encourage you to read the covered scenarios in the T&C’s before purchasing. Find more info HERE. This protection is administered and managed by Race Roster, not Triathlon WA or Busselton Festival of Triathlon. For any support or questions about this, please contact [email protected].
How Teams Work
If you’re not ready to compete alone, why not create a team and split the distance between you. All team participants must be at least 14 years old as at 31/12/2025 to race.
HOW DO TEAMS WORK?
Busselton 25 Teams can be made up of 2 or 3 people. In a team of 3 people: 1 person swims, 1 person bikes and 1 person runs. You each take turns so that only one person is on course at any given time.
In a team of 2 people, one person does 2 legs of the race and the other person does one. If you want to do all 3 legs of the race, you’ll need to enter as an individual.
When registering your team, the Team Captain must start by creating the Team name, passcode, and registering themselves. Once they are in, they can then invite their team members with a link or code. Alternatively you can register everyone at once. Make sure to assign each person their team role – swimmer, cyclist or runner. The Team Captain can adjust the teams role at a later stage as needed via Race Roster.
During the race, the timing chip is passed between team mates in transition (swim to bike, then bike to run), and on the last lap all team members can meet at the ‘team meeting point’ to cross the finish line together.
You’ll each get your own participant pack, wristband, race number, tee, and finisher medal. Make sure to ask the volunteers at the finish line for your medal if you don’t want to join your runner down the finish chute.
PLEASE NOTE: In 2026, one day licence fees are included in the flat price for all team entries.
