Q: What is the cost to register a team?
A: TA member teams - $520 + active.com processing fee (all participants must hold a valid TA membership). NON TA Member teams - $570 + active.com processing fee.
At time of registration, the captain will be asked to create a team name and password and pay the full registration fee. Once this is complete the other team members can register via the relay tea member option. They will not need to pay the registration fee.
Q: What is the withdrawal policy for a relay team?

Q: Do all my relay members need to be the same age and gender?
A: No, teams can be comprised of a mix of gender and ages, however, all participants must be 18 years of age on race day.
Q: Are two person relay teams permitted?
A: Yes. A two person relay can complete the race with any combination of legs (swim, bike and/ or run). However all legs must be completed.
Q: Can a two person relay team later add a third member?
A: Yes. For further information please refer below to the team Team Changes FAQ’s.
Q: If a team member needs to drop out, can we do a two person relay?
A: Yes, however all legs must be completed.
Q: How do I request to switch a relay member?
A: Any changes to the team (team member changes/team member additions) need to be by the race office. For further information please refer to the team changes FAQ’s listed at the bottom of this page.
Q: Is participation on two different relays permissible if I am competing in different legs?
A: No. Team members are only allowed to compete on one relay team.
Q: Can I switch from an individual entry to a relay entry?
A: Individual entry to Relay entry:If team registration is open, you will be able to change your entry by paying the difference between the individual entry price and the relay entry price.

Q: Do all team members need to show up to athlete check-in?
A: Yes. All teams must be present at athlete check-in to ensure that all the materials are accounted for and to align with our terms and conditions.
Q: As a relay member, what materials do I receive?
A: Everyone will receive a participant t-shirt, race bag and towel. At the finish line, the runner will need to pick up a Medal for each team member.
Q: Does each relay member receive a timing chip?
A: No. The team will receive one chip. The timing chip acts as a “baton” and team members must handoff the timing strap/chip to move forward to the next leg. Relay athletes must keep ankle strap and chip on their ankle at all times until making the transfer between tem members. The timing strap/chip must be worn on the left ankle.
Q: How does transition work? Do the cyclist/runner need to stay in transition the entire time?
A: A relay team pen will be designated for the teams to gather. This is where the passing of the timing chip will take place in order to move on to the next discipline
Q: Is there a Relay specific wave?
A: Teams will be assigned to either their own wave. It is crucial that the swimmer starts with their correct wave and start time. Team wave start times will be released closer to the event.
Q: Are cut-offs the same for relay teams?
A: Yes. Relay Teams are expected to make the below course cut-offs.
Swim: Each wave will have 1hour to complete the swim. Athletes who take longer than 1hour to complete the swim will receive a DNF. Additionally, any athlete that starts in the final wave and misses the 1hour cut off will not be allowed to continue on in the race and will receive a DNF.
Bike: 4 hours and 15 minutes from the relay wave start.
Run: 6 hours and 45 minutes from the relay wave start.
Total Time Cut-off: The race will officially end 8 hours and 30 minutes after the final wave. Each team will have 6hours and 45 minutes to complete the race. Any team that takes longer than 6 hours and 45 minutes to complete the race will receive a DNF.
Q: Can cyclist/runner watch the swimmer?
A: You are more than welcome to head to the swim start to watch your swimmer. Just be cautious of the timing.
Q: If a team member fails to make the course cut-off, can other team members still complete their leg of the race?
A: Yes. If the swimmer and/or cyclist does not complete their leg within the time constraints the other team members can still participate however the team result will be a DNF- Did Not Finish.
Q: Can all team members cross the finish line together?
A: Yes all team members are able to cross the finish line.
Q: How are medals distributed?
A: Medals are given to the runner upon finishing. It is the responsibility of the run leg athlete collect and distribute the towels and medals to the team.
Q: What is the award process? Are awards broken down by gender, age-group, or overall?
A: Awards are given out to the top 3 place holders in each relay team category.
1st place is awarded to Female Team, Male Team, Corporate and Mixed Team.
2nd place is awarded to Female Team, Male Team, Corporate and Mixed Team.
3rd place is awarded to Female Team, Male Team, Corporate and Mixed Team.

MAKING TEAM CHANGES
Q: How do I change the team captain?
A: To change the team captain you must contact the race office either by emailing: email@example.com or phone 08 9443 9778. They will then nominate the new captain upon your request.
Q: How do I add additional team members?
A: To add additional team members they must register as a relay team member by clicking here: The team member will be prompted to type in the team name and password created by the team captain. Without this they will not be able to enter the team.
Q: How do I update or change team members?
A: To update or change team members you must contact the race office either by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org phone 08 9443 9778. Please ensure you communicate what you would like to be changed or updated ie; leg, member, category. Team Members must be cancelled by the race office. Once a Team Member is cancelled then another person will be able to register and take their place.
Q: If my team is already full, how do I change my team member or members?
A: To update or change team members you must contact the race office either by emailing: email@example.com phone 08 9443 9778. They will then be able to remove the current member from the event and free up space for the new member to register.
Q:How long do I have to make team changes?
A: The 31 March 2017 is the deadline to make any team changes free of charge. To make a change to your team, email the TWA office at firstname.lastname@example.org, with details of the required change and a contact number.
From 1 April - 15 April, you can make Team changes at a cost of $20 per change. To make a change to your team, email the TWA office at email@example.com, with details of the required change and a contact number. TWA will contact you to organise payment. Cash or EFTPOS only.
After the 15 April there will be no further opportunity to make team changes until race registration, onsite at Busselton, on 6 May 2017, between 11am - 5pm. To make any changes the Team Captain and new team member will need to present to the Event Marquee with photo ID. There will be a fee of $35 per change that must be paid at the time, either EFTPOS or cash only.
