Masterclass Workshop Series

     

Triathlon WA is proud to present a 3 part Masterclass Workshop Series for people competing in the Sunsmart IRONMAN 70.3 Busselton or other long course events.

Run over 3 nights, each session will focus on one leg of the triathlon, looking at current trends and training techniques specific for long course racing. Each session will also include other topics, such as nutrition, sport psychology and injury prevention. See below for dates, topics and venues.                    


 

 

 

 

  • Workshop 1 - SWIM/NUTRITION/SPORT PSYCHOLOGY
  • Wednesday 20 February, 6.15pm
  • Department of Sport & Recreation, Leederville
  • Workshop 1 of the Masterclass Series focuses on the swim leg of the triathlon, Dan Rogers will be looking at specific skills around open water swimming and sighting. You will also get some insider knowledge and tips about the new swim course.
    There will also be a presentation on nutrition and hydration by David Bryant from Catalyst Dietitian followed by a presentation on sports psychology, goal setting and controlling those nerves with Jodii Maguire from Think Performance.
  • Workshop 2 - BIKE/BIKEFIT & INJURY PREVENTION
  • Wedensday 27 February, 6.15pm
  • Department of Sport & Recreation, Leederville
  • Workshop 2 focuses on the bike leg, Professional Triathlete Alistair Caird will be looking at what you need to know about power meters, road bikes versus time trial bikes and wheel selection. You will also get general tips and tricks in becoming a better cyclist.  Star Physio will be looking at bike fit and injury prevention in cycling.
  • Workshop 3 - RUN/NUTRITION/INJURY PREVENTION
  • Thursday 7 March, 6.15pm
  • Como Bowling Club
  • Session 3 focuses on running with Raf Baugh from the Running Centre looking at running technique, preferred foot landing, running equipment and how to get faster. Star Physio will be looking at injury prevention, specifically running injuries and David Bryant from Catalyst Dietitian will look at nutrition and hydration strategies for long course racing.
