2017 Festival Details

2017 SUNSMART BUSSELTON FESTIVAL OF TRIATHLON

Triathlon WA (TWA) is excited to announce further details about the 2017 SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon, which will take place from Friday 5 May– Sunday 7 May.

In 2017, SunSmart IRONMAN 70.3 will be on Sunday. This move allows SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon to offer a range of additional events and activities for competitors and their families and, in particular, provides further opportunity for the local Busselton community to be part of the Festival.

ENTRIES OPENING FOR SUNSMART IRONMAN 70.3 BUSSELTON 2017

Entries for the 2016 SunSmart IRONMAN 70.3 Busselton event will open to all Triathlon Australia members at 9am AWST on Tuesday 18 October 2016. General entries (if not sold out prior) will then open at 9am on 25 October 2016

Entry fees will be as follow (all inc GST):

INDIVIDUALS

  • TA Members - $370.00
  • NON TA Members - $390.00

 TEAMS

  • TA Member Teams - $520.00
  • NON TA Member Teams - $570.00 

A 6% active.com fee is charged on top of the entry fee. Entry fees and terms & conditions are listed in full on the event website.

The 2016 SunSmart IRONMAN 70.3 Busselton event has 30 qualification spots for the 2017 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships that will take place in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

NEW FORMAT FOR SUNSMART BUSSELTON FESTIVAL OF TRIATHLON

In addition to the SunSmart IRONMAN 70.3, which will remain the premier event of the festival, we will also host an Open Water Swim, SunSmart Kids Triathlon and the inaugural Fun Run. 

The expansion of the SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon allows for a more inclusive weekend of events that brings a new level of excitement to Busselton. 

Details on entry for these events will be released over the next few months via the Festival website.

ATHLETE AWARDS & CELEBRATIONS

The athlete awards ceremony and celebrations will now take place on Sunday 7 May.

Food vendors and entertainment will be provided onsite throughout the afternoon and evening, continuing until 9pm. There will be no entry fee to attend the celebrations.
