Located approximately 230 kilometers south of Perth, Busselton is nestled in the South West corner of Western Australia and can be found along the coast of Geographe Bay. Spanning right up towards Cape Naturaliste, the town offers a seemingly endless shoreline that is protected by the bay and perfect for all water lovers. There is even a cycle path that runs adjacent to the foreshore, taking in the stunning views of the crystal blue water and making Geographe Bay accessible to all.
Home to the iconic Busselton Jetty, the town also offers the newly refurbished Busselton Foreshore. This is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing afternoon with friends and family and includes features such as free barbecues, a skate park, children’s playgrounds, cafes and kiosks. There is no better place to watch the sunset then on the lush green lawns, surrounded by magnificent pine trees.
Heading into the centre of town, you can stroll along the streets of Busselton and visit some of the local shops, cafes and eateries. Most of these places are owned by locals so be sure to ask them for advice on some of Busselton’s best kept secrets. If the shops aren’t enough, you can also drop into the old court room and jail which now serves as an arts centre and cultural complex.
Heading out of town, Busselton is just a short half hour drive to the Margaret River Wine Region, home to some of the world’s best wines. This is the only wine region in Australia where you can experience beaches, timber forests, hidden caves and premium wineries all in the one place. Not only that, the Margaret River Wine Region also offers locally produced cheese, yoghurt and chocolates, as well as giving you the option to explore many local galleries and studios.
With all of this on offer, it’s not hard to see why Busselton has been voted the tourism and event capital of Western Australia and see’s thousands holiday makers a year
